SUMMONER'S TALES...

"I think the greatest English novel ever written - actually it's an American novel - is by Mark Twain, who wrote Huckleberry Finn. The reason I say that is because of the perfect combination of plot and characterisation. Often you get books with fantastic plot and the characters are kind of flimsy or you get books the characters are incredibly well drawn but the plot sucks. This, if you drew a graph, 'Huckleberry Finn' in my opinion, is a perfect line between those two things and therefore is a perfect book."
